As regards the degrees, the ILCH currently offers eight Bachelor’s degrees, with a monodisciplinar, an interdisciplinary or even an artistic orientation, in the fields of Lusophone Studies, Cultural Studies and Philosophy, Applied Languages and European Languages and Literatures, Asian Languages and Cultures, and, more recently, Music and Theatre.

The ILCH has now eleven Masters’ degrees (2nd cycle), some of them with a particular scientific orientation in the fields of Sciences of Language, Political Philosophy, Literary Theory and Lusophone Literatures, while some others are essentially applied and professionalizing Master’s degrees, related to Lexicographic Studies, Cultural and Literary Mediation, Translation; several courses are also specifically linked to foreign languages and cultures teaching or Portuguese as Second Language.

As regards 3rd cycle degrees, the Institute also provides four doctorates without taught component in the fields of knowledge and specialties of Humanities as well as a doctoral program in the field of Comparative Studies. The number of doctoral courses with taught component is expected to increase.
